Carousel maker without a subscription: tools that sell a one-time option

Which carousel makers sell a one-time option?

We read vendor pages on 5 November 2026 and listed a tool as one-time only when its page states a one-time price or credits that do not expire. The publisher of this site sells one of these licenses, so that row is held to the same questions as the others: what the payment covers, and what it does not.

Other ways to avoid a monthly fee are not purchases of a tool.

• TikTok's own editor. As of November 2026, photo posts are built inside the app with up to 35 images, and the Creator Academy page we read describes no AI slide writing (Creator Academy (opens in a new tab)). The steps are in the free route.
• Self-hosting Postiz. Postiz (opens in a new tab) is open-source (AGPL-3.0) software you can run yourself with Docker or Helm. You also pay for the machine you run it on. Hosted Postiz has no free plan (pricing (opens in a new tab)). It is a scheduler with a design editor. For TikTok you must register your own developer app, and until TikTok audits it, posts are forced private (Postiz docs (opens in a new tab)).

One tool we could not classify: carousel.bot (opens in a new tab) describes a browser editor that works locally, but it shows no pricing in the app and its pricing address returns a 404. We cannot say whether it is free, paid or one-time.

What does a one-time price leave out here?

• The AI bill. aiCarousels states that its lifetime plan has no AI allowance and runs on your own OpenAI key. The license sold here also leaves AI to you: nothing is charged for it, API keys are billed by the provider, the command-line tools use your own plan, and Ollama runs free on your computer.
• Posting. aiCarousels lists LinkedIn only. On the license sold here, posting is Coming soon, included in your lifetime access as an update. If posting to TikTok or Instagram matters today, a scheduler or a subscription tool does that part.
• How many people and devices. aiCarousels' plan covers one person. The license sold here covers one computer at a time.
• A trial or a refund. Fyslide has no trial and all sales are final, except by court order, in special cases at the owner's discretion, or where mandatory law provides otherwise.
• How long "lifetime" lasts. aiCarousels says its plan is valid for the life of the product. That is the product's life, not yours, and no vendor can promise its own future. This page cannot say how a license check behaves if its publisher stops.
• Features that exist only on paper. Buy for what the app does on the day you pay. A Coming soon label is not a feature.

Which one-time option fits which job?

• You want a desktop app and your own AI: Fyslide. The gap is posting, which you do by uploading the exported files.
• You want a browser tool and have an OpenAI key: aiCarousels Pro Lifetime. The gap is that its page lists LinkedIn posting only and names an OpenAI key as the AI source.
• You pay per use rather than per month: SlideStorm credits. Check how many credits your slideshows take, including AI images at 3 credits each.
• You make a carousel now and then: the free route in TikTok's editor costs time instead of money.

If you are unsure whether paying once beats paying monthly, the break-even formula shows the method, and the lifetime vs subscription calculator does the arithmetic for you.

How do you check a "lifetime" claim before you pay?

• The pricing page states a one-time price in your currency.
• It says who or what the license covers: one person, one computer, a team.
• It says what is metered: AI usage, exports, accounts.
• You know whose AI bill you will pay and roughly how big it is.
• You have read the trial and refund terms.
• Every feature you need exists today and does not carry a Coming soon label.
• You have run the break-even months against how long you will really use the tool.
